About AMG | Physicians | Staff | History | Mission statement
Dr. Gould opened his solo medical practice in 1979; located at 719 Capital Avenue S.W. Dr. Lopez joined him at the Capital Avenue location in July 1981. Together they formed Associated Medical Group, P.C. (AMG). They started with 5 employees.
In February 1985, the growing practice moved to 2 Heritage Oak Lane, adding more staff and a female physician, Eve Inchardi, M.D. After starting her family, Dr. Inchardi left AMG to work part-time in Kalamazoo where she practices today. AMG continued to grow, in November 1991 Bronson Hospital purchased the building AMG occupied giving only 30 days to move!
Dr. Gould and Dr. Lopez then purchased the building they are in now which was in foreclosure at the time. This building was in extreme need of updating! On the day after Christmas in 1991 they moved into the small office at the side. What an experience it was, we still talk about the curtains on the exam rooms eating in our lab and having our copier in the hallway. We would love to hear from any of our patients who saw us during the transition and what you remember. It was a very stressful few months for us.
We all remember the move in 1991, we rented 2 U hauls and EVERYONE helped. Our husbands, sons, daughters, their boyfriends basically anyone who volunteered assisted with the move. It was quite an overwhelming day! We were all tired, had sore muscles and swore we would never move this office again. True to our word we are still in the same location after 17 years!
The doctors hired Associated Construction to start designing our new office. After blueprints were approved, they gutted the whole upstairs and started to build our new office, we became very good friends with Dave the foreman. Renovations were finally completed in April of 1992 and again we tackled the move upstairs. This move was almost as bad as moving across town, the stairs were difficult and we had sore muscles again and we swore we would never move again! Our new office seemed huge after being in such cramped quarters for several months. We didn’t know how to act, but we were extremely “happy” to be in our new office suite.
Today, AMG has expanded to more than a dozen employees. We hope to continue growing and providing you the confidence to “Put Your Healthcare in Our Hands”.
